Commercialization of Education

‘Commercialization of education’ - this term now days can be heard very often. In the process of maintaining, the balance with the ever changing tempo of business and industrial trends, politicization and commercialization of education has grown in leaps and bounds. The commercialization effect is spreading like epidemic as parents rush behind extremely expensive schools and colleges just to feed their rank in society. Thus the common person’s chances of enrollment in a quality educational institution had been replaced with those who can afford to pay the price. It has been observed that this privatization of education among people and society is being fed by hot publicity and advertisements. The emerging trend towards rampant privatization of education requires immediate attention at administration’s end, which needs to take some sincere steps towards eradication of commercialization of education.
