The Earth's average temperature has increased by about 1 degree Fahrenheit. Evidence of this are the spring ice thaw, which occurs now 9 days earlier in the Northern Hemisphere than it did 150 years ago. Similarly, the fall ice freeze begins 10 days later than it used to.
A significant portion of Earth's fresh water supply comes from melting glaciers. With global warming and dilapidating glaciers, it wont be long that fresh water supply will severely be hampered. For example, Montana's Glacier National Park had 150 glaciers in 1910; and now it has less than 30 greatly shrunken glaciers. The same is the case in the tropics. Mount Kilimanjaro has melted by around 80% since 1912 and could be totally gone by 2020.
