“You’re wrong. I m right"
This is one the most rigid stances you can have, because it leaves no room for understanding or appreciation for the other person's experience. The only outcome of this devastating attitude is the feeling of defensiveness and rigidity. Instead of taking a firm stand and doing everything to prove the other wrong, try to show how much you care. You will surely notice that they have started to share what they felt was important and what made them perform the act. The real fun is in trying to erase what's been said and use their words as a tool for deeper understanding. Be present with what has been said and notice how you react. Are you okay with it? do you need more explanation? Are you worried? Start being honest…you both will be the victors.
