Indian Press – Are They Providing Biased Coverage?

In recent few years, Indian press has been criticized for their biased approach. It is mainly because of the fact that they only cover sensational news for getting free publicity. Also, stories from the metro cities are given preferences while news catering to smaller towns and villages are rather ignored. Aarushi and Nitish Katara murder case can be taken as examples of this so-called sensational journalism.

It is sad that, news coming from rural areas is ignored quite often. Resultantly, many Indians do not know what the reality is. Do you know how many farmers die everyday in Vidharbha? What makes them to take their own life? There are many questions which you do not know or media does not want to reveal.

Also, entertainment news is given priority these days. Everyday more than half of the newspaper is filled up with core gossip about celebrities. I wonder where we are heading towards.
