It is the seventh-largest country by geographical area, the second most populous country. Being a pluralistic, multi-lingual, and multi-ethnic society, India is also home to a diversity of wildlife which consists of around 7.6% of mammals, 12.6% of avian, 6.2% of reptilian, and 6.0% of flowering plant species. Overall, 33% of Indian plant species are endemic.

India's forest cover ranges from the tropical rainforest of the Andaman Islands, Western Ghats, and Northeast India to the coniferous forest of the Himalaya. Between these extremes lie the sal-dominated moist deciduous forest of eastern India; teak-dominated dry deciduous forest of central and southern India; and the babul-dominated thorn forest of the central Deccan and western Gangetic plain. Important Indian trees include the medicinal neem which is used in Indian herbal remedies.
In recent decades, the system of national parks and protected areas is established and in 1935 it was substantially expanded.

In 1972, India enforced the Wildlife Protection Act to safeguard crucial habitat. India now hosts over 500 wildlife sanctuaries, 14 biosphere reserves, four of which are part of the World Network of Biosphere Reserves.

PAWS – Progressive Animal Welfare Society

PAWS is an animal welfare society, protecting animals since 1967. CRY believe childern are very special and consider them as the citizens in their own right. Also, CRY do not believe in charity.

CRY says changing the life of children is not an impossible task but the only thing is that the children, their parents and communities should be well informed about their rights. They should also be in touch with the local government bodies to explain the root causes of the problems, they are facing in their daily lives.

We at CRY believe that the "child rights" approach is the most effective way to increase awareness and enlist greater support for children, as opposed to the 'relief' approach which treats children as objects of sympathy.

Cry found the following in India:

46% of children in India are underweight, 38% stunted and 19% wasted their fate [National Family Health Survey, 2007]

53% children in India reported having faced sexual abuse [Ministry of Women and Child Development, 2007]

There are 17 million child laborers in India [Government of India Census, 2001]

180 out of 581 districts in India have seen primary school enrolments fall [DISE, compiled by NUEPA]

8% of schools still do not have a blackboard [2007 Survey by HRD Ministry, UNICEF and NEUPA]

In just over 4 years, CRY has transformed the lives of more than 80,000 children by supporting 16 not-for-profit organizations all over the world. It is mainly because of the fact that they only cover sensational news for getting free publicity. Also, stories from the metro cities are given preferences while news catering to smaller towns and villages are rather ignored. Aarushi and Nitish Katara murder case can be taken as examples of this so-called sensational journalism.

It is sad that, news coming from rural areas is ignored quite often. Resultantly, many Indians do not know what the reality is. Do you know how many farmers die everyday in Vidharbha? What makes them to take their own life? There are many questions which you do not know or media does not want to reveal.

Also, entertainment news is given priority these days. Everyday more than half of the newspaper is filled up with core gossip about celebrities. I wonder where we are heading towards.

Black Entrepreneurs Society

Black entrepreneurs is a society of people who have created their prominent place in this world. Culture and traditions are preserved in Indian blood which can be seen in the rich glories of the past. In India people of many different communities and religions live together with unity despite of having distinctive manners, habits, tastes, clothing, most importantly language. Here language changes after every 10 miles. Indian lifestyles clearly glorify the geography.

Deep-rooted family values exist in Indian families. Till date men are considered as the head of a family, although they are no longer the single breadwinner. Women have become so apparent that they go hand in hand with men in every aspect. Children give respect to their Parents and are financially supported by them throughout their education.

Indian people believe in sharing their happiness as well as sorrows with their family friends and relatives. Chris Gradner, the successful stockbroker is one of those people who struggled their way to achieve the sunshine and establish his strong statement in the world.

Being raised by a single mother, Gradner knew what it meant to be poor and lack of strong family. In 1982, he had just an income of $1,000 (from his training program), no home to live on and a 20-month son to be raised. For a complete year, he and Chris Jr. slept where they could - cheap hotel rooms in West Oakland, a shelter at a church in the Tenderloin, under his office desk, even, on occasion, the bathroom at the Bay Area Rapid Transit MacArthur station. Slowly he struggled hard to get more for him and his son. In today’s world, Gradner is a known owner of stock broking firm and earning in millions.

His endeavors are filmed in 2006 motion picture called “The Pursuit of Happiness.” Chris has also published his memoir and continued to get popular with each passing day.

Ancient Mesopotamia Civilization

Mesopotamia civilization is one of the oldest civilizations in the history of mankind, flourished in Mesopotamia between the Tigris and Euphrates. It conceptualizes the idea of a complete framework where human beings are divided into groups such as religion, work interests and others and putting their efforts for the development of the human race as their common aim. Civilizations differ on different scale including the modernity basis, way of living and others. To be clearer, the concept of different civilizations can be understood as the level of their development. Like in some civilization, agriculture was the main source of livelihood whereas in others trading occupied the main business activity. So, one can find a point of distinction in every civilization. Further, civilizations say more about the growth story of the human race. It records each and every change or development of our life. So, I believe aims and goal setting should be a constant part of part lives. Furthermore, setting goals are important for getting success in life too. Without setting goals, a person may face some distractions and impediments to achieve a better life and living. Aim for anything, making money, earning a good educational degree, success in business venture, pursing your social aspirations to make your life better and meaningful. Yes, goals give the meaning to our lives. Goals and aims help in taking some of the crucial decisions of our lives. You can actually decide what do you want and chalk out a plan to achieve it. Lack of an organized planning or aim, one may wander aimlessly and time might take decisions for us. Aims infuse meaning and hopes in our lives, it create a target to achieve and inspire and motivates us to get it. However, aims and goals differ from time to time and it is correct also. Our priority changes and to cope with these changes, we may alter our aims and goals. It also depends upon the maturity level of a person, which reflects in our action also. So, if you want to achieve something in your life, set your goals and aims because life is meaningless without it.

Society & Human Race

The word “society” is a compressed meaning of a diversified group or entity representing a common interest. This particular set of people tends to work for a common goal or have common aspiration. Earlier, society mirrored people having common religious beliefs and ethnic groups. However, with the time, the traditional meaning of the society has changed drastically. Nowadays, society has greatly affluent by the persuasion of common interest rather their cultural identity and ethnic race. Thus, the format of society has come a long way.

The society has a deep role to play in the development of human race. A budding child needs enough background to learn the basics of the life. In a way, family is a small unit of a large society. Members of the family stay together and share a close bond of trust, love and commitment in order to attain maximum satisfaction in their lives. Thus, in short we can say, the development of the society leads to the development of the human race.

Famous personality - JRD Tata

Some people affect others’ life but rare affects the life of an entire nation. At the age of 90, JRD passed away leaving behind the quest of innovation, technological developments and vision of hope. But his charm and exclusive style will be deeply missed always.

Pen Vs Sword

Every body of us knows the meaning, value & importance literacy. Today, there is increasing concern over climate change and our role in changing the climate towards deterioration. By harnessing solar power and converting it into energy, we can at least pay back a little of much that we can taken away from mother nature.

There is some cost associated with installing a solar energy harnessing system. Initially this cost was high, but nowadays the cost has reduced significantly over the years, and you can save substantially in a short term over your energy bills if you serious reap this free energy.

People are also making their own solar cells and panels from manuals distributed by anxious environmental protagonists. This makes it even cheaper to setup. However, it is debatable whether the homemade solar cells would be as efficient as the professional solar cells.

Guru Gobind Singh

Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the 10th guru of Sikh was born on 22 December, 1666 at Harimandir, Patna Sahib and survived in an awfully perilous time. It was at the time when all the reign was under Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.

His father, Guru Teg Bahadur, for the sake of Hindu religion, had given up his own head. Kidnapping of women and stealing of goods were uncontrollable, but the people were too fearful and frightened to oppose. Then Guru Gobind Singh took his position and stood up against the injustice and cruelty. with a great stature as both saint and warrior. He was a leader of rigid religious ethics and strong affection to God.

Additionally, Guru Gobind Singh was a talented intellectual. He was encouraged to write down the different strong pious compositions which include Jaap Sahib.

At the time he was passing away, he taught his Sikhs to consider the Guru Granth Sahib as their educator.

Fear, the beast within

Fear has always been the strongest ally of the strong and the worst enemy of the weak. The history of world is amassed with people who, by virtue of their fearless attitude, have deliberately made the weaker (the people who are always afraid to challenge something or someone) follow them. This unfortunate behavior is everywhere to be found, the only reason why the society of today is divided into two categories-the strong and the weak. Fear of standing, fear of standing for your right, fear of standing up to the conviction are something that we are so used to nowadays…This fear factor has a significant contributing in giving our society an undesirable look. Our society is a society build on high human interference. Here most of children are dependable on their parents even some times after crossing their young hood. I have seen many of friends who are employed and are earning well but they are still not able to take their independent decisions. For the fear of ending up doing something wrong and for the fear of failure. This is not what should happen, There are many ways to drive away the beast within. Just take the courage and be ready to face failure. After all it has been rightly said, the only difference between one courageous and one fearful soldier is that the courageous soldier had the courage to withstand for some few more seconds.

Barriers to Communication

“You’re wrong. I m right"

This is one the most rigid stances you can have, because it leaves no room for understanding or appreciation for the other person's experience. The only outcome of this devastating attitude is the feeling of defensiveness and rigidity. Instead of taking a firm stand and doing everything to prove the other wrong, try to show how much you care. You will surely notice that they have started to share what they felt was important and what made them perform the act. The real fun is in trying to erase what's been said and use their words as a tool for deeper understanding. Be present with what has been said and notice how you react. Are you okay with it? do you need more explanation? Are you worried? Start being honest…you both will be the victors.

Global warming

The Earth's average temperature has increased by about 1 degree Fahrenheit. Evidence of this are the spring ice thaw, which occurs now 9 days earlier in the Northern Hemisphere than it did 150 years ago. Similarly, the fall ice freeze begins 10 days later than it used to.

A significant portion of Earth's fresh water supply comes from melting glaciers. With global warming and dilapidating glaciers, it wont be long that fresh water supply will severely be hampered. For example, Montana's Glacier National Park had 150 glaciers in 1910; and now it has less than 30 greatly shrunken glaciers. The same is the case in the tropics.
